Water conservation is top of mind for contractors and building owners in drought-prone areas of the South and West. But a new report from two environmental groups suggests that efficiency should be a priority nationwide. The “2017 Water Efficiency and Conservation State Scorecard” from the Alliance for Water Efficiency and the Environmental Law Institute looked at state laws guiding water efficiency and conservation efforts, PHCP Pros reported. It found that states where droughts persist continue to lead in efficiency and conservation. Meanwhile, states in the Midwest, Mountain West, and Plains had some of the lowest scores.
